I'm Sinead Baker, a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over a decade of experience supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
My career has spanned the NHS, specialist education and independent practice, giving me a unique perspective on how children are assessed, supported and understood across different settings.
I partner with schools, local authorities and childcare providers to deliver specialist training, consultation and high-quality assessments. My approach combines evidence-based practice with practical, achievable recommendations that can confidently be implemented in everyday settings.
Whether I’m delivering training, writing specialist reports or consulting with education teams, my aim is the same: to create environments where communication, learning and participation can thrive.

Who I work with
Children, young people & families
I provide diagnostic assessments for Developmental Language Disorder and help identify and support a range of complex communication and speech difficulties. I create bespoke communication plans and recommendations tailored to each child, and can carry out assessments to inform IDPs and EHCPs.
Case Managers & Solicitors
I work alongside case management companies and legal professionals, supporting children and young people with complex communication needs, providing clear, detailed specialist reports and evidence-based clinical input that stand up to scrutiny in case planning, tribunal, or legal contexts.
Residential & Specialist Settings
I provide speech, language, and communication input for residential children's homes and specialist educational placements, working with staff teams to embed total communication and trauma-informed practice into daily routines and care, supporting emotional regulation in line with the wellbeing focus at the heart of CIW's inspection framework.
